2025 Visit to Shuttleworth Air Show
The weather kept us guessing all day, but mainly cooperated. There were literally half a dozen drops of rain at one stage, then it cleared up again – the cloud base was a bit low for the earlier aerobatic displays, and the wind was inconsistent.
A good number of AIR UK (see list) came, and we eventually all made contact.
A noisy and unusual aircraft display was a jet-powered Pitts, yes! Later, there was another noisy display, performed entirely on reheat, by a visiting Eurofighter Typhoon, flown by an RAF instructor. This included standing on its tail. You need some power for that! This was followed by the Bristol Boxkite, which utilised 5 knots of wind instead to enhance performance, although it was still unable to reach 50 mph. But it is still impressive!
Another glorious day at Old Warden among friends and fascinating aircraft – and we hope for many more.
Best Wishes
Adele.
