2025 Visit to Norwich Aviation Museum

Storm Claudia burst over England the day after we had a glorious dry day of blue sky, sunshine and light winds at the Norwich Aviation Museum. Clive Kerr used to organise that sort of weather, so perhaps he is now working in a heavenly Met Office on our behalf… thank you, Clive.

Once again, NWI was popular – see the list of those attending and apologies. Some of our number actually flew in. (And you know what Norwich was like for landing fees & fuel). The Museum staff were wonderful, fourteen volunteers came in to look after us and we had (officially) the Dart Herald, F27 G-BHMY, Irish RJ (146) and Nimrod open but frequently people were seen climbing in & out of a number of other aircraft… the Tea Room didn’t do much business at the beginning but certainly made up for it later.

Thank you to all who turned up and made it such an enjoyable occasion, and our gratitude to everyone who donated to the AIR UK website – we didn’t know for some while that Carl was paying the website fees himself as well as creating and running it, but we had him trapped on Thursday so could rectify that situation.

Maria took most, if not all, of the photographs, and we could not have done without her.

Finally, apologies to all (including Angie) for the numbers discrepancy & for asking people if they had paid to come in. We tracked down the non-payers to some unexpected AirUK museum members who have free entry & whose status was unknown to us!
