Thanks to Ray Pavey, who worked for BIA and Dan Air and then ran the handling company BIAS at Bournemouth kindly sent through to us the following pictures of several F27 aircraft, taken just prior to scrapping at Norwich.

All these aircraft had been broken up by December 1996, the forward fuselage section of G BDVS  preserved by the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum. Photo Ray Pavey.

Used as a cabin trainer, it was then used by Air UK Engineering until 2017 when it was presented to the Norfolk Aviation Museum. Photo Ray Pavey.

In service with Air Anglia early 1972. Pictured at Greenham Common during the International Air Tattoo, probably engaged in pleasure flying duties. This aircraft has had the “Transair Mod”, which comprised of fitting fibreglass undercarriage doors which were closed by bungee rubbers and fitted against the protruding main wheels and improved the single engine take-off performance. On the 11th June 1984 the wing was hit by a National Freight Corporation truck at Bournemouth. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair and was broken up between the 6th and 28th July 1984 for spares use. Photo Ian Haskell.

On the 19th July 1990 the starboard main landing gear failed to lock down, a forced landing was made with the starboard gear in the unsafe position. After repair work at Amsterdam the aircraft was ferried to Norwich, it was withdrawn from service and broken up in November 1991. Photo Jan. Aviation Safety Network.
